Tam Dao, fragrância da casa de perfumes francesa Diptyque foi lançada em 2003 e criada por Daniel Moliere. Tem simplicidade e graça muito belas e memoráveis considerando as fragrâncias que pertencem a esta família olfativa. Basicamente, é um perfume verde amadeirado, ornamentado com acordes sutis e refinados de madeiras e tem uma base de sândalo diferenciada. Tam Dao inclui notas de madeira de rosa, madeira de cipreste, âmbar cinzento e sândalo.
A beleza de Tam Dao como uma arte de desenhar uma fragrância é a aura que evoca um agradável aroma de simplicidade com elegância levando em consideranção as características de suas notas amadeiradas. A criatividade de mesclar madeiras de típicas árvores de aroma opulento transformando escuridão em transparência é a maravilha para o meu nariz, espírito crítico e perfumado. Definitivamente, uma fragrância leve e pura, maravilhosamente transparente em contraste com a obscuridade dos perfumes amadeirados é a riqueza de Tam Dao.
Uma borrifada de Tam Dao na minha pele e o sentimento imediato é de estranhamento, uma faceta herbal amadeirada que tem um cheiro forte para o meu olfato, mas o perfume está aqui e deixo-me guiar pelas sensações dele. O aroma pesado da nota de cabeça é a madeira de rosa, madeira de coloração avermelhada; mais tarde estes acordes de um verde amadeirado começam a desenvolver um aroma relaxante.
Um sentimento de paz ao cheirar Tam Dao explora minhas sensações bucólicas. De repente, estou em um lugar desconhecido, nunca antes visto, quase silencioso e sinto somente o fôlego do vento e o cheiro da natureza. Um delicado e cativante sillage toma espaço e então um irresistível toque de âmbar cinzento aquece minha pele, fazendo com que eu me lembre que a natureza me abraça, que as árvores perfumadas me agarram.
O encantador âmbar cinzento, bem evidente para aqueles que estão familiarizados com esta nota e muito usado na perfumaria oriental me atrai mais, sempre mais para este tour olfativo de Diptyque; celebrando esta adorável perfumaria do oriente, guiando-me para uma nova e interessante descoberta de mais um perfume de nichia. Além disso, as nuances diversas das notas amadeiradas capturam a essência do original Tam Dao no Sul-Leste Asiático, um lugar com a diversidade de raras árvores.
O âmbar cinzento deixa o rastro por pouco tempo, no entanto o suficiente para expressar, de uma forma etérea o esplendor desta nota oriental em um perfume parisiense. Um pouco mais adiante, no drydown, há uma explosão de sândalo tão transparente como as outras notas amadeiradas, de efeito calmante e não dominante como usualmente é encontrado na perfumaria.
Tam Dao foi uma experiência olfativa que trouxe a imagem da natureza até mim, não a selvagem mas a impressão de uma natureza simples e calma, a impressão de uma pintura de Van Gogh: The Cypress Trees. Fui levada para a época do meu amado pintor pós-impressionista. Não foi somente por causa de sua pintura e as imagens de madeiras e árvores na minha mente mas por causa da vida de Van Gogh.
Ele pintava de uma forma frenética, quase visceral explorando suas profundas emoções, pinceladas incontroláveis como o escapismo da turbulência, da solidão e da loucura. Suas pinturas eram simples como a fragrância de Tam Dao mas capazes de capturar a expressão das árvores. Sua mente foi tão atormentada e, então, imaginei que Tam Dao poderia trazer-lhe o efeito relaxante do sândalo, a beleza verde dos ciprestres, a beleza e a força da madeira de rosa. Eu pensei em Van Gogh.
Tam Dao foi inspirado por um lugar asiático, então lembrei-me de que Van Gogh encontrou paz em algo relacionado à Ásia. Ele amava a arte japonesa e suas composições simples, embora produzidas com a intensidade oriental. Lembrei-me de que Van Gogh não teria cortado parte de sua própria orelha se tivesse sentido o aroma de Tam Dao; certamente o perfume lhe traria alguma alegria e tranquilidade, ao seu espírito poderia ser dado um novo vigor, uma nova vida e acalmado sua alma sofrida.
Sentir o perfume Tam Dao e pensar em Van Gogh foi um sonho de escapismo que me possuiu . Eu pintei a visão e as nuances deste perfume. The Cypress trees estavam lá e eu estava caminhando calmamente próxima a elas, usando Tam Dao, sentindo o amadeirado que perpetuava-se na minha pele, a serenidade e alguma inspiração que trouxesse paz para minha alma. A caminhada durou um bom tempo para uma delicada fragrância verde amadeirada e deleitei-me com a natureza da terra, da grama enquanto comtemplava a impressão de ser parte do quadro de Van Gogh.
O primeiro cheiro foi como um passo para estes mundos da arte. E eu, Van Gogh e Tam Dao estamos lá.

Tam Dao, fragrance of the French Perfume House Diptyque was launched in 2003 and designed by Daniel Moliere. It has a memorable and beautiful simplicity and grace among fragrances which belong to its olfactory group. Basically, it is a green woody perfume ornamented with subtle and refined blending of valuable woods accords and an unusual drydown of sandalwood. Tam Dao includes notes of rosewood, cypress wood, ambergris and sandalwood.
The beauty of Tam Dao as an art in fragrance design is the aura that evokes a pleasant smell of simplicty with elegance bearing in mind the characteristics of its woody notes. The creativeness of blending dark woods of these typical trees transforming their darkness into clearness is a wonder to my nose , fragrant spirit and critic. Definitely, a light and
clean fragrance, terrifically transparent in contrast to the natural heaviness of woody perfumes is the richness of Tam Dao.
A spray of Tam Dao on my skin and my immediate feeling is a strangeness, a herbal woody facet which smells a little strong to my olfaction, but the smell is here and I let Tam Dao guide my sensations. The heavy scent of the top heady is Rosewood, a dark reddish wood; later these accords of a green woodiness start to develop to a relaxing smell.
A peaceful feeling of smelling Tam Dao explores my bucolic sensations. Suddenly I am in a unknown place, never visited again, quite silence just feeling the breath of the wind and the smell of the nature. A subtle and captivating sillage takes places and then an irresistible touch of ambergris warmed up my skin, making me remember that the nature embraces me, fragrant trees hold me.
The enchanting ambergris, really evident for those who are familiarized with this note and very used on East perfumery attracts me more and more to this Diptyque olfactory tour that celebrate the adorable Oriental perfumery, leading me to a interesting niche perfume discovery. Besides, diverse nuances of woody notes capture the essence of the original Tam Dao in South-East Asia, a diverse place of precious trees. The ambergris lingers for a short time, however enough to express etherealy the splendor of this oriental note in a parisian perfume. Later on the drydown, there is an explosion of sandalwood as clean as the others woody notes, very relaxing and not prominent as usual on perfumery.
Tam Dao was an olfactory experience that brought to me the image of nature, not a wild one but the impression of a simple and calm nature, a impression of a Van Gogh’s paiting, The Cypress Trees. I was transported to these times of my beloved Post-Impressionism painter. It was not only because of his paiting and woods and trees images on my mind, but because of Van Gogh life.
He painted in a frenetic form, quite visceral exploring all his profound emotions , uncontrolled strokes to escape from his wildness, solitude and madness. His paitings are simple like Tam Dao fragrance but are able to capture the expression of the woods. His mind was tormented and then, I imagined that Tam Dao would bring him the relaxing property of sandalwood, the green beauty of the cypress trees, the sweetness and strength of rosewood. I thought of Van Gogh.
Tam Dao was inspired by some Asiatic place, then I remembered that Van Gogh found some peace in something related to Asia. He loved the japanese art, its simple compositions however produced by the oriental intensity. I remembered that Van Gogh would never cut a part of his own ear if he had smelt Tam Dao certainly the perfume would bring him some joy and tranquility, his spirits would be given a new vigor, a new life and would refresh his suffering soul.
Smelling Tam Dao and thinking of Van Gogh was a scaping dream that possessed me. I painted a vision and nuances of this perfume. The Cypress trees are there and I was walking calmy near to them, wearing Tam Dao, feeling the woodiness sillage , the serenity and some inspiration to feel peace in my soul. The walking lasted a good time for a delicate green woodiness fragrance and it was amused the earthiness of grass while contemplating the impression of being part of a Van Gogh’s painting.
The first whiff was like a step to these art worlds: perfumery and paiting. and I, Van Gogh and Tam Dao are there.
